The Human Rights Protection Cell (HRPC) has announced the organization of Webinar No. 202 in the public interest, based on the Right to Information Act, 2005. The webinar will be held on 20 February 2026 (Friday) at 08:00 PM via the online platform JioMeet. The objective of this program is to educate and empower citizens regarding the legal provisions, procedures, and effective use of the Right to Information.
The keynote speaker for this webinar will be Hon’ble Member Judge Dr. Sandeep Kumar Pandya, who is presently serving as a Member at the Kheda District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, Gujarat. He is a distinguished jurist, academician, and human rights thinker, and has been honored with the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar National Human Rights Award 2025 at the HRPC International Human Rights Convention 2025. His extensive experience in the fields of law and education will provide participants with practical and authentic guidance.
The webinar will cover the fundamental concepts of the Right to Information Act, 2005, the procedure for filing applications, the system of first and second appeals, the responsibilities of Public Information Officers, and key aspects of ensuring transparency and accountability in governance through RTI. Participants’ queries will also be addressed, offering practical insights into the effective implementation of the Act. The webinar will be conducted in both Hindi and English.
HRPC believes that the Right to Information is a powerful instrument for strengthening democracy, enabling citizens to actively participate in governance and ensure transparency. This webinar will be highly beneficial for advocates, law students, social activists, journalists, and aware citizens.
